BOMBrief is designed to complement hardware design workflows built with KiCad by providing a dedicated online space for BOM and component documentation.

Teams using KiCad can:

• Upload BOM exports generated from KiCad projects
• Organize component lists by project, product line, or customer
• Add comments for engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams
• Track approved vs. experimental component sets
• Share read-only views with partners and suppliers

BOMBrief does not:

• Edit schematics, layouts, or library files.
• Work with anything other than exported, user-provided data such as BOMs, CSV files, and documentation.

This separation keeps KiCad as the design environment and BOMBrief as the documentation and alignment layer.
